Question:

I just saw a post on Facebook which stated that hemorrhage is effective in saving the life of a person suffering from a stroke. My question is that is the methodology of hemorrhage at all effective in saving the life of a person suffering from a stroke as the post describes?

Answer:

Our investigation didn’t find any relation between the hemorrhage and saving the life of a person suffering from a stroke.

The viral post on Facebook is claiming that “Yes! “My dad would not have died of a stroke if he had known the technique beforehand.” The post said, you need to heat a needle on the flame for a few seconds to sterilize it. Then use it to make small wounds on the soft part of the tip of ten fingers of the patient’s hand. Do it in such a way that there is bleeding from each finger, and you will see that the patient is slowly recovering.”

The viral post also claims that “life-saving hemorrhage has traditionally been used in China as part of medical treatment, and its practical application has proven to be 100% effective,” the report said.

Facebook users have shared this post as a very important post to raise public awareness. But they do not know that this news has no scientific basis.

BD Factcheck has contacted Dr. Ismail Hossain Riyadh who works to raise awareness against fake health news to verify the veracity of this viral post. Dr. Ismail Hossain Riyadh says that blood transfusion is an unreasonable way to save the life of a person suffering from a stroke. In the case of stroke, the blood pressure should be at least 180/100 mm. It is important to keep in mind that there is no indication of a decrease in blood pressure other than harmful hypertension.

So it seems unreasonable to lower blood pressure quickly without being sure if it is a hemorrhagic stroke. He told the person suffering from a stroke to seek medical help immediately. Therefore, it is seen that bleeding without confirmation of the type of stroke is not an effective measure.
