Who We Are

BD FactCheck, Bangladesh’s first fact-checking initiative, is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, and professional organization that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in Bangladesh. We monitor the factual accuracy of what is said by the political party leaders, public figures, intellectuals in the form of traditional media, social networking sites, and public places. Our goal is to apply the best practices of both journalism and scholarship and to increase public knowledge and understanding among the Bangladeshi people and diasporas.

We are Independent:

BD FactCheck is registered under the Companies Act (Act XVIII) of 1994 and the company is limited. We cover Bangladesh and Bengali diasporas mainly in New York City, and thus, our team is split into Bangladesh and the U.S.A. We are independent fact-checkers, and we do not compromise with the truth and objectivity.

We are Neutral:

We ensure our neutrality in every step of fact-checking procedures to fundraising activities. We have safeguards to monitor neutrality in fundraising, political activity, a conflict of interest, researching, reviewing, publishing, and more. We recruit our staff very carefully so that they are sensitive to these issues.
